Clinic description
The lecture portion of this clinic will focus on the history of the horse in the Medieval period, and will include a slide presentation discussing different classes of horses, their use, the different styles of riding, and culminating with discussion on the Medieval Warhorse and the activities the knights used to practice for warfare and the joust.  The hands-on session of the clinic will allow attendees to safely engage in some of the activities the knights used for practice, including sword and lance drills.  Equipment will be provided.

Kristina Charron holds a B.S. in Animal Science with an Equine major from The Ohio State University. She has been riding horses for thirty years and has been a professional riding instructor and horse trainer for over twenty years. For the last fifteen years she has applied her practical knowledge to researching the use of the medieval warhorse, including cavalry tactics and the use of sword, bow and spear from horseback. She has been invited to publish several articles, and to deliver numerous lectures and demonstrations on her award-winning research.
She resides in Stoughton Wisconsin where she lives on a small farm with her husband, two horses and barn cats.

EVERYONE attends  "A Judges View" to participate in the rest of the Clinic

9:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m. Showmanship

11:00 a.m. & 12:00 p.m. Pleasure

1:00 p.m. Lunch

2:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. Equitation

4:00 p.m. Conformation-Form to Function
          Teaching is on conformation and its relationship to performance
"Conformation- Form to Function" is open to all.

Sign up will be on a first come first serve basis.

All classes will be divided into two groups; A's and B's. Class sizes are limited.

All must participate in "A Judges View" in order to qualify for the rest of the clinic.

Each participant limited to entering two horse in hand classes.

Racine County 4-H and Racine County Fair Grounds is not responsible for theft, losses, or injuries.

All horses require a current coggins. 

Original coggins will be checked, and you will need a copy of the coggins to leave with office staff.

Box lunchs can be preordered.
